Written Testing

Murfreesboro Aviation is a certified CATS (Computerized Assisted Testing Service) testing facility. We can administer all FAA written testing and are the only flight school in the state of Tennessee that offers the testing capability on-site.

Our Written Testing Capabilities Include:


  1. Recreational, Sport, and Private Pilot
  2. Instrument Rating
  3. Commercial Pilot
  4. Military Competence
  5. Instructor (CFI, CFII, Ground, etc.)
  6. ATP
  7. Flight Engineer
  8. Aviation Maintenance Technician (A&P, IA)
  9. Aircraft Dispatcher
  10. Flight Navigator
  11. Parachute Rigger

Each of the above includes available testing (as applicable) for airplane, balloon, helicopter, glider, airship, gyroplane, powered parachute, weight-shift control, sport, multi-engine, etc.)

Cost of Testing:


The cost of your exam is $150.

 

Available discounts:


  • If you are an AOPA Member and you have your card with you at the time of the testing, then it’s $10 off the normal price.
  • We also provide a student discount for local MTSU students. Bring the card with you and receive $5 off your CATS exam.

 

Testing Hours:


Monday – Friday 8 am to 3 pm.

While we prefer that you make an appointment, we can typically accommodate “walk-ins”.

 

How To Schedule Your Exam:

What you’ll need to bring:


If you are a U.S. Citizen or Resident Alien, bring;

  1. Driver permit or license issued by a U.S. state or territory, or
  2. U.S. Government identification card, or
  3. U.S. Military, or
  4. Alien residency card

If you are a Non-U.S. Citizen, bring;

  1. Passport,
  2. AND EITHER
    1. Driver permit or license issued by a U.S. state or territory; OR
    2. Identification card issued by any government entity

Alternative forms of address verification include;

  1. Public Utilities Statement
    1. Electric, Gas, Water
    2. NOT Cable
  2. Mortgage Statement
  3. Lease Agreement
  4. Property Tax Bill or Receipt
  5. Property Deed
  6. Homeowners or Renters Insurance Statement
  7. Vehicle Registration
  8. Voter Registration Card
